C-K Balances Budget

A change in health care coverage has helped the Clayburg-Kimmel School Board balance its 2011-12 budget. The school board and the Claysburg-Kimmel Education Association verbally agreed on a memorandum of understanding that saves the school district $160,000 in its health care coverage for covered workers.

The Spring Cove School Board approved a tentative 2011-12 school district budget that will be available for public preview for 30 days at the administrative offices and on the district website.

The Williamsburg Community Schools Board of Directors approved a $7.01 million budget that raises real estate taxes four mills.

Michelle Browell racked up three hits, Ann Steele walloped two doubles. On the mound, Megan Guyer gave up three hits, struck out eight, and walked no batters. These were the key ingredients in that Northern Bedford mixed just so to defeat Tussey Mountain 6-0 in varsity softball action May 10.
