Memorial Day Program Set

Peter Showman Post 574, Grand Army of the Republic, was planning a Memorial Day program for Saturday, May 30. A procession was to form at the Odd Fellows Hall under the command of chief marshal Dr. William M. Bolger, proceed to the residence of Maj. Alecander Bobb on West Allegheny Street, where there were to be exercises, speeches and music, and from there to Fairview Cemetery and Spring Hope Cemetery.

The Pennsylvania Railroad was selling special round-trip excursion tickets for persons planning to attend the conderence of the German Baptist Brethren in Ottawa, Kan.

The 13th annual conference of the Juniata Classis of the Reformed Church was held at Zion Church in arklesburg. Rev. W.A. Long, Ph. D., was elected president to succeed Rev. A.C. Geary.

Two professors from John Hopkins University as well as a doctor from Baltimore and their families made reservations to spend the summer at the hosterly in Water Street.
