Claysburg Library Offers New Programs

With the lifting of capacity restrictions due to COVID, the Claysburg Area Public Library will begin holding in-house programs.

The first program will be a craft class on June 7 at 6 p.m. Participants will be decorating flower pots. Interested parties need to bring a pot, acrylic paints and anything they want to use to create a beautiful pot. All ages are welcome. Call the library at (814) 239-2782 to register.

As summer approaches, it is time to register children for the Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is “Tails and Tales.” Participants will be learning about animals in different habitats.

The programs will be held on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. There will also be an activities sheet and reading log available when registering. Register by June 1, if possible.

Programs will include Garden Animals (June 9), Jungle Animals (June 16), Farm Animals (June 23), Hero Animals (June 30), Ocean Animals (July 7), and Freaky Animals (July 14).

Carol Thompson from Bedford County Wilderness Search Team and her rescue dog will be at the library on June 30 at 11 a.m. to demonstrate how rescue dogs find a lost person.
