Bair Foundation Child and Family Ministries Celebrates Commitment to Families and Children

The Bair Foundation of Blair County, located at 615 Howard Ave. in Altoona, held a celebration at Valley View Park on May 4.

The Bair Foundation, founded in 1967, has said its mission is to “build strong children, strong families and strong communities” through foster care, adoption, kinship, family services and behavioral health.

Jamie Fetter, program director, and Ashlee Long, permanency specialist, coordinated the program. Over 40 staff members attended the event.

Fetter said, “Our goal was to celebrate staff commitments to our families and children.”

This was the first kickoff party since the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks were worn by all and box lunches and prizes were given to all.

Carmen Nangle, regional director out of Harrisburg, attended the event.

“We offer high-quality services to our staff and employees,” said Nangle. “We want them to be able to serve the community and the most vulnerable of child and family. We provide safe spaces for healing and promoting growth in all our programs. We do foster care, biological kinship, path permanency, adoption and behavioral health services.”

Amy Craig, state director out of York, was also present. Craig reviewed information with staff and held break out sessions to discuss ways to continuously work with families using a faith-based approach.

The Bair Foundation has many foster care families in the Cove. Those interested in the Bair Foundation’s services can call (800) 203-5680.
