Breth. to Study Life Insurance

Herald of June 25, 1896

The Dunker Annual Conference appointed a committee to investigate whether any life insurance is available that may be accepted by the brethren without violating any Gospel principle.

Dr. J.S. Bonebreak returned from Harrisburg, where he attended the examination of the State Medical Board, which pronounced him a full fledged doctor. He will practice with Dr. J.W. Wengert.

Dr. Wengert’s new brick walk at Fredericksburg was somewhat damaged by the runoff from recent heavy rains.

E.G. Bobb, the standing “first marshal” of Roaring Spring, purchased the finest carriage available and gave up riding a bicycle.

Two swindlers struck Martinsburg, selling lineament made of gasoline and water and bogus scented beans and corn salve. They were a slick pair of fakers, taking in $50 before they left for Saxton. Earlier they had been in Roaring Spring where they collected $40. They offered to pull teeth with a buggy whip.
