The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a discretionary grant to the Altoona-Blair County Airport Authority to enhance its runway. The grant is for a total of $423,741.
The airport received a grant for the same purpose last year. The approximately $1.1 million grant completed two-thirds of the runway project, according to Tracy Plessinger, manager of the Altoona-Blair County Airport. The new grant will complete the final phase of the project.
