The intersection known as the Five Points in Roaring Spring will be getting a traffic light and sidewalk upgrade thanks to a $263,200 grant from PennDOT's Green Light-Go fund.
Roaring Spring Borough has received a $263,200 grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT's) Green Light-Go program.
Green Light-Go grants are provided as reimbursement to municipalities to improve efficiency and operations of existing traffic signals.
Borough Council President Rodney Green said the grant will be used to upgrade the traffic lights at the Five Points as well as improve the sidewalks and curbs around the area to make it handicap accessible.
