Bakers Summit

Charles G. “Chuck” Shriver, 80, of Bakers Summit, passed away peacefully Monday evening, July 12, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 16, 1940, in Roaring Spring the son of the late Mary Shriver. He married Susan Shriver Sept. 11, 2018, in Winchester, Va.

He is survived by his wife; a stepson, Richard Burket and wife Sherry of Hollidaysburg; a granddaughter, Deanna Hoenstine and husband Paul of Claysburg and their daughter Haileigh; a sister-in-law, Mona Shriver of Martinsburg; a niece, Susie Himes and husband Brian of Hollidaysburg; a nephew, Dave Shriver and wife Kay Lynn of Roaring Spring; and a niece, Marsha Berkheimer and husband Dean of Roaring Spring.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob.

He was a member of Barley Lutheran Church. Chuck was a 1958 graduate of Morrison Cove High School. He then served in the United States Marine Corp. He owned and operated Cove Floor and Wall Covering in Martinsburg for 25 years. He loved hunting, animals, walking in the woods, taking care of his farm, and he loved going to watch ball games.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021, in the Barley Lutheran Church. Rev. Roy Stewart will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Chuck’s memory may be given to the Bedford County Humane Society, 182 Bohn Road, Bedford, PA 15522, or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
