Kulp Family Farm Provides Farm Fresh Fun With a Unique Corn Maze

Are you searching for an activity to enjoy with friends, family, church groups etc.? Go to 2373 Cove Mountain Rd. in Martinsburg for a spectacular corn maze.

This beautiful corn maze was done on five acres of farmland. Process and design were done by Philip Kulp of Kulp Family Farm. This is the farm's second year to have a corn maze. The maze is self-serve and is open all daylight hours. Sign a waiver, take a card and map, and find the matching hole punches throughout the maze. A donation is greatly appreciated.

If you would like to call you may but is not necessary. The phone number is (814) 937-669. Participants may take a picture and use the hashtag "Kidcornmaze20." There are two wooden props for staging photos.

Part of the proceeds will go to two charities. The first one is Love in Action. According to the Love in Action website, "Love In Action International Ministries rescues orphaned, abandoned, abused, and extremely poor children in Latin America, introduces them to Jesus Christ, nurtures them in a loving family home environment, and equips them through education and discipleship to impact their world for God's Kingdom."

The second charity is Water for Good. According to their website, their mission is to provide "clean lasing water for every man, woman, and child in the Central African Republic." They have supplied and trained local technicians to maintain over 1,800 water wells in the Central African Republic, keeping wells working over 90 percent of the time.

Mary Kulp said, "Our family was raised to believe we are stewards of the land. We provide resources to people in the community. It's not about making a profit but giving back."

This maze was created when the corn was about 18 inches high and mowed off with a lawn mower to create the pattern. This family run farm staffs about 30 people and at harvest time utilizes about 70.

Philip built the dairy in 1999. This farm milks about 2,900 cows.

The maze will be open from July 20 to sometime in October.

Last year's maze served over 1,000 participants. This year, it is expected to serve even more.
