Claysburg Man Jailed in Murder of Brother

A Claysburg man has been arrested for killing his brother and burying his body on a Kimmel Township property.

Larry M. Claar, 41, is accused of shooting his brother, Michael Claar, 46, of Claysburg, at 298 Picnic Road, Kimmel Township, Bedford County, and transporting the body to a property along Mountain Penny Lane, Kimmel Township and burying it.

According to Bedford State Police, on July 24, police were called to the Picnic Road residence just before 8:30 p.m. after a friend of Michael Claar requested police check on his welfare.
