Dairy Grand Champs Named

Showing the grand champion colored breed cow at the Morrisons Cove Dairy Show was Joseph Helsel of Blue Knob with his Brown Swiss. Richard Smith of New Enterprise showed the grand champion Holstein.

The Civil Aeronautics Board approved the application of Air East Inc. To provide commuter service with 15-passenger planes in place of the 50-passenger Convair service that was operating by Allegheny Air Lines between the Blair County Airport and Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.

Miss Sandy Burket, Daughter of Mrs. Martha Jane Burket of Claysburg, was the title of 1971 Claysburg Fire Queen.

Thieves stole an Oliver diesel farm tractor with a four-bottom plow that was undergoing repairs and was parked on the customer’s lot at Burchfield’s Inc.

Mark Bechtel, 15, son of Mr. And Mrs. Glen Bechtel of Roaring Spring, was hospitalized after being seriously injured in a bicycle accident.
