Col. Knee Dies in Iowa

Samuel G. Knee, formerly of Martinsburg, died in Delaware County, Iowa, at the age of 62. He was a colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War and was a prominent businessman.

The Prohibitionist of Blair County met in Altoona and nominated John McKerihan of Altoona for Assembly and John Clark of Williamsburg for county commissioner. Prof H.D. Patton of Lancaster, state chairman, attended the afternoon session at Lakemont and gave a speech.

A chewing gum factory was opened in Meadville by former mayor John Porter and was manufacturing 5,000 packages daily.
