Golden Rule Dairy to Open

Merle C. Detwiler of New Enterprise RD 1 announced that he would begin operation of a new dairy – “Detwiler’s Golden Rule Dairy.” It was to feature milk from Detwiler’s Guernsey herd.

Because of the reconstruction of 3.43 miles of the Woodbury Pike, a detour was established between the Cross Roads and Waterside for traffic.

Martinsburg’s baseball team won its third Blair County baseball league pennant by defeating Williamsburg 4-2.

Cool and wet weather in Morrisons Cove continued to worry tomato growers. The H.J. Heinz company was hoping that growers would do their best to fight the blight and conserve the crop.

The Rockwood Sprinkler Co. of Philadelphia completed installing an automatic sprinkler fire protection system at Nason Hospital.

The Martinsburg Sportsmen’s Association initiated an effort to have the state examine a proposed lake site near Henrietta.
