Reliance Bank Makes Donation to Dragon Pride Foundation

On Aug. 10, Reliance Bank made a donation to the Dragon Pride Foundation, a charitable organization that collects and distributes funds to enhance the educational, artistic, and athletic programs throughout the Spring Cove School District.

“It’s a pleasure and an honor to support the continued education of children in this community,” said Valerie Detwiler, Senior Vice President at the recently renovated Martinsburg branch. “At Reliance Bank, we believe that it’s the people that make our communities special, and by helping them, we’re helping to build a stronger Central PA.”

Reliance Bank is a passionate proponent of financial literacy, and donations to educational programs are just one of the ways that the community-focused bank is promoting the concept. August 23-28, children up to the age of 17 will be able to open a Young Savers account at the new Martinsburg branch and receive a credit of $75 after three months.

“It’s important that our kids understand the power of saving and learn to take care of their money,” said Detwiler. “We hope that this small gesture will be the first step in a long and healthy financial journey for all of our young savers.”
