Boy Found Dead Along Road

Eleven-year-old nephew of Lester S. Furry, Richard Patrick Erb, was found lying dead on the highway after he fell from Mr. Furry’s truck when he grabbed for his hat. The tragedy was not discovered until Mr. Furry and the boy’s father, Selby Erb stopped at the Erb home.

Harry S. Gwin, Cove war veteran, was expecting word from the draft board to report again for active duty in the Army. He served five months as an Army Air Corps cadet and was honorably discharged in November 1945.

Mr. And Mrs. Jacob P. Hartman of Martinsburg observed their 50th wedding anniversary...
