Williamsburg Students Hold Protest Against Mask Mandate

With chants of "No more masks," more than 50 students and parents of the Williamsburg Community School District gathered in front of the high school on Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, to protest the district's decision to require students to wear a mask in school.

Tuesday was the day the mask mandate from Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and the Department of Health went into effect.

Organized by junior Bailey Detwiler, the students said they were there to fight for their freedom of choice.

"They are trying to put a muzzle on us and force us to do something we don't have to do," she said.
