Mr. and Mrs. James Phillips of Martinsburg became the parents of a son early in the morning of October 25. The baby was born in the car on the way to the hospital.

The Blair County Tuberculosis and Health Society sponsored an X-ray test at the Morrisons Cove high School. It was expected that between 350 and 400 boys and girls would be X-rayed to discover and check for any symptoms of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis can be prevented from developing when properly treated in time.
