Bedford County Opens Disaster Recovery Center For Survivors Of Tropical Storm Ida

In the wake of Tropical Storm Ida, Bedford County received as much as eight inches of rain, soaking the ground and overflowing creeks and streams. Several communities realized a sustained flow of 3 to 6 feet of water damaging roads, bridges, homes and property.
Bedford County has been working with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to open a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) centrally located to assist disaster survivors.
