Alpha Beta Chapter Welcomes New Members

Alpha Beta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met on Oct. 14, 2021, at Spring House Estates in Everett, Pa.

Linda Clapper, projects chair, reported that 69 fleece blankets were made and donated to local institutions. Also, the members collected more food items for backpack programs at local schools.

Linda McElroy announced the development and approval process for the new Teacher Enrichment Grants that will provide funds for classroom projects. Three local teachers will receive funds toward their projects. Linda also conveyed appreciation from the staff of the Jubilani School in Africa for the ongoing financial support from Alpha Beta Chapter.

Following the business meeting, the ceremonies committee inducted two new members into Alpha Beta Chapter. Amy Snyder and Nancy Rockey accepted the chapter's invitation and pledged their support of the purposes and projects of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Also, transfer members Kris Olsen, Pat Marshall, Connie McClain and Wanda Keller received certificates commemorating their membership in Alpha Beta.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society is an international organization of key women educators devoted to educational excellence and the support of educators.

The next meeting will be a Christmas Tea on Dec. 4 at Slick's Ivy Stone in Osterburg, Pa.
