Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program Now Open

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is now open. LIHEAP helps families living on low incomes pay their heating bills in the form of cash grants.

To qualify for assistance you must meet income requirements. You do not need to be on public assistance or have unpaid heating bills. The program is open to both homeowners and renters.

Households in immediate danger of being without heat might also qualify for crisis grants. The cash grant is a one-time payment sent directly to the utility company/fuel provider to be credited on your bill. These grants range from $500 to $1,5...
