Panthers Dominate Trojans For Senior Night Win, 37-15

Northern Bedford racked up 367 yards of offense on Senior night to finish the regular season at 7-3 with a 37-15 victory over visiting Mount Union last Friday night.

Senior Brooks Snider caught two TD passes to highlight the Panther offense. The offense was an effective mix of passing and rushing with Eion Snider passing for 129 yards and Adam Johnson rushing for 55 to lead the team in both categories.

The defense was equally effective yielding just 132 total yards and not giving up a defensive TD until there were less than 4 minutes left to play.

NB jumped out to a 14-0 lead before a Trojan kickoff return put the visitors on the board. A Griffin Keller 7-yard TD run gave NB a 21-7 lead at the half. Ashton Detterline also scored a first half rushing TD.

NB jumped to a 37-7 lead prior to the late Trojan score. “It was a great team win,” said Coach Garry Black. “Our seniors have provided good leadership all year through thick and thin and this was their night.”

Prior to the game all the senior players, cheerleaders, and band members were honored.

Northern plays Tussey Mountain for the District 5 title on Friday night at Hollidaysburg. Kickoff is 7 p.m. All tickets at the gate will be $8. Student ($4) and adult ($8) tickets will be sold at the high school office until noon on Friday.
