Medical Helicopter Sent to Sawmill Road Accident Tuesday

Report: Man injured by saw

A helicopter ambulance was dispatched to an accident at 213 Sawmill Lane in Huston Township at 2:34 p. m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

According to public safety radio traffic, a male had his arm injured by a saw. A fire chief who arrived first at the accident scene requested that the medical units expedite their response. An ambulance helicopter was dispatched and reported to be on the ground at the site around 2:58 p.m.

The Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Dept., Station 80, and the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Dept., Station 90, were dispatched to the incident, along with Hollidaysburg Ambulance units.

The helicopter ambulance with the patient was sent to UPMC Altoona, and departed around 3:05 p.m., according to public safety radio traffic.

The location of the incident is off Sportsman Road, between Martinsburg and Williamsburg.
