New Boutique Opens in Williamsburg

For many in Williamsburg, going to stores for women's clothing and accessories requires a trip to Altoona to do some shopping or firing up laptops and shopping online. Now, thanks to Randi Fay, there will be boutique shopping right in our own back yard in Williamsburg.

Fay opened BeRadiant Boutique on Saturday, Nov. 13. Fay credits her daughters, Brinlee and Rylan for the inspiration for the name, and Fay wanted a name "that makes you feel good," and BeRadiant was born.

Fay acknowledges she has a crazy obsession with clothes, a self-diagnosed "shopping problem." Fay, a stay-at-home-mom, saw some of the local boutique stores in the area and realized she could do the same thing, for a variety of budgets. Some of the product available in her store is clothing, leggings, t-shirt press to make custom tees, purses, accessories, and jewelry.

Choosing Williamsburg was a pretty easy decision for Fay.

"Our family is down here and I just appreciate and love the small-town atmosphere," said Fay.

Fay is renting space off of her father-in-law Michael Fay, who owns the old Yeager's Carpeting building and the space is also home to his resale shop.

"A lot of people have been coming around, especially since I painted the front and have been very welcoming and complimentary," said Fay. "I think a lot of people in Williamsburg are open to the idea."

If she had any advice for someone hoping to open a small business someday, Fay says to "spend more time getting prepared," and thanks her family for helping out. The store hours are flexible as of print date, but Fay hopes to keep the store open Tuesday-Saturday, with Sunday and Monday being closed. Fay also wants to, after she gets settled, complete online orders as well.

"I'm a stay-at-home mom who wants to provide for my family, spend time with my family and contribute to this community," Fay said.
