Chalmer T. Dively

Martinsburg

Chalmer T. Dively, 84, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday Nov. 16, 2021, at home after an extended illness.

He was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Martinsburg the son of the late Thomas Nathaniel and Mary Jane (Dorn) Dively. He married Rose M. Cross Feb. 28, 1956, in Altoona and she passed away Oct. 21, 2006.

Chalmer is survived by six children, Deborah K. Clouse and husband Dwight of New Enterprise, Danny T. Dively and wife Deborah K. of Martinsburg, Gordan L. Dively and wife Susan of Martinsburg, Andrew P. Dively and wife Josie of Roaring Spring, Robert A. Dively of Ocala, Fla., and Mark Dively of Martinsburg; 27 grandchildren, and over 40 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia and Mary.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, and two sisters: Shirley and Margie.

Chalmer was a member of Woodbury Church of the Brethren.

He retired from E.F. Smith Trucking, Roaring Spring. He loved his horses and chickens, collecting antiques, camping, and gardening.

A funeral took place Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, in the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Pastor David Ulm and Pastor Larry Graybill officiated. Interment followed in Dry Hill Cemetery.
