M-burg Borough Council Says Goodbye To Linda Smith After 12 Years of Service

Mayor Richard Brantner Sr. (left) presents a proclamation in honor of Linda Smith's (center) 12 years on the Martinsburg Borough Council. Council President Robert Dickson (right) ended the December borough council meeting by thanking Smith for her years of service.

During the last meeting of 2021, Martinsburg Borough Council thanked Councilmember Linda Smith for her 12 years of service, as Smith did not run for another term on council.

Smith started on the council in 2007, when she filled in for her late husband Sheldon Smith.

During her time on the council, Smith has been a leader of the revitalization committee. She assured the council that she will continue to help with the committee. She also expressed that she "has enjoyed it and will miss it."

Councilmember Durban Metzler said he has "enjoyed sitting by this lady" and thanked her for encouraging...
