Woodbury Raises Millage to 0.739

The millage for Woodbury Township was raised during the December meeting on Dec. 2. The millage went from 0.671 to 0.739, which is about an increase of $7 on a $100,000 property. Craig Hamilton made the motion with Ed Clark seconding, and the motion passed.

Ed Clark made a motion to approve the 2022 budget as presented. Craig Hamilton seconded, and the motion passed.

Supervisors set their annual reorganizational meeting for Monday, Jan. 3, at 5:30 p.m., with the auditors’ meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. If you are interested in being an auditor for the township, you are urged to contact the township office.

In his Roadmaster’s report, Hamilton talked about the new loader. The financing for the new loader at a cost of $120,467 at a 60-month lease. Clark made the motion to approve financing for the loader. With Hamilton seconding, the motion passed.

Hamilton also made notion of Cove Forge – that there continues to be parking on the road and on township right-of-way. Supervisors discussed putting up signs and declaring no parking. They said this would be the last warning for Cove Forge.

Hamilton also stated that the shoulders are done on Lower Piney Creek and that he and his crew are getting trucks ready for winter. Hamilton also brought up completing a road study on Lower Piney Creek, from 866 to SR2020. Hamilton made the motion with Clark seconding. The motion passed.
