Beginning Jan. 1, Williamsburg Municipal Authority customers should expect to see an increase in their bill. During last Tuesday evening’s authority meeting, an increase to both sewer and water was discussed. David Myers made the motion to increase sewer rates by $3 and water rates by $1.24. Chet Bingham seconded the motion and motion passed. The 2022 budget was then approved with Myers and Bingham making and seconding the motion. The motion passed.
Myers also made the motion to continue the services agreement with township engineer Stiffler-McGraw for the 2022 calendar year. Daryl Cole seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The wet well pump installation took place a few months ago and Operators have been pleased with its performance. In the 2022 budget, the Authority acquired estimates to replace the remaining pumps. Those estimates totaled a cost of $37,350. The Authority opted not to move forward with the replacement of the remaining wet well pumps at this time, but will consider replacements at a later time.
