Hollidaysburg Area Community Partnership Outlines 2022 Goals

The December monthly meeting of the Hollidaysburg Area Community Partnership (HACP) was highlighted by the outlining of their 2022 goals. The HACP Goals were outlined as follows: 1) A Marketing Director needs to be hired as soon as possible 2) Must promote and increase HACP membership 3) Promote and identify key member events through the partnership as well as partner organizations 4) Finish the website and continue a social media presence in the borough 5) Improve relationships with the Hollidaysburg Area School District, the community and local organizations. It was announced that the HACP website should be complete this week. The partnership has one candidate for their marketing director position, but President Dr. Robert Gildea recommended that a committee be formed to interview candidates and bring recommendations to the next meeting.

The Program and Development Committee announced the window decorating contest was up and running. It ended on Dec. 17. Votes for the best window were cast on the HACP Facebook page or website. The New Member Drive Committee had a list of potential members who are local and the partnership reached out to at least five potential members.

Dr. Gildea will be stepping down as president and Michael Eardley will be leaving his post as secretary. Board member Jessica Sorge is willing to serve as president and Jodie Albarano will serve as secretary. Board terms are set to expire for Eardley, Sorge, and Maureen Letcher. All three will remain on the board for another term expiring in 2024. One more member is needed on the board going forward. Their nomination made by Pam Jones was approved unanimously.

New business was focused on looking to recruit new board members and build the HACP. Their progress in this area will be reviewed at the next meeting.
