Deloris M. "Dee" McConahy

Deloris M. “Dee” McConahy, 75, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 8, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born July 16, 1946, in Texas Corner, Bedford County, daughter of the late George Ralph and Marie Elizabeth (Wallace) Imler. On July 26, 1969 she married Harold E. McConahy at the Diehl’s Crossroads Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold of 52 years; a daughter, Julie R. Osborne (David) of Lebanon; a son, Trevor E. McConahy of Three Springs; four grandchildren: Nicholas J. Steele (Jean), Casey J. McConahy, Luke T. McConahy and Benjamin H. McConahy; a great-grandson, Isaac P. Steele; four sisters: Helen Eshelman, Esther Dibert, Leanna Hall and Sheila Moore; and a brother, P. Richard Imler.

Dee was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra L. McConahy; a grandson, Alexander D. Osborne; four sisters: Wilda Dibert, Belva Harclerode, Alverta “Sara” Baker and Erma Imler; and six brothers: Bernard, Warren, Herbert, Robert, Daniel and Gerald Imler.

She was a 1966 graduate of Central High School and attended Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church. Dee was a loving homemaker who also worked for many years at the snack bar in Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.

Dee loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her very best friends, which were her sisters. She enjoyed quilting, making sauerkraut, going to the beach, being the family beautician, canning and freezing deer meat and homegrown fruits and vegetables. Dee also made and sold homemade cheese balls at local fairs and was an amazing seamstress.

Friends will be received from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at the church. Pastor Brian L. McCall will be officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Dee may be given to Morrisons Cove Memorial Park, 201 S. Walnut Street, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
