Rutters Brothers Found Hiding

It was reported that the notorious Rutter brothers, who terrorized the law oficers at Ligonier, Westmoreland county a few days ago, found a hiding place on Tussey mountain in Catherine township near the home of a married sister. They were nine brothers, none under six feet in height, ranging in age from 15 to 35 years, and all apparently without fear.

A jury in Blair County court convicted R. Bruce Hutchinson, a well known merchant from Kipple, of hiring four men to set fire to his business rival, Pheasant and Wagner. The men testified that Hutchinson offered them $100 for the job. Firefighters were able to save the building.

The editor reported that “sleighing parties are in vogue”.

The faithful watchdog of East Sharpsburg, “Kiser”, belonging to R. R. Fider died suddenly. Some think it was poisoned.

The German Baptists organized a Sunday School at Clover Creek.
