NES&L Wins Bid

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company was awarded the contract to build a Route 219 bypass around Meyersdale in southern Somerset County. New Enterprise submitted the low bid of $53.1 million.

Punxsutawney Phil and his handler William “Bill” Deeley visited students at Martinsburg Elementary School and presented a program.

The Cove dealt with a number of problems brought on by changing weather conditions. Fluctuating temperatures and rounds of precipitation caused incidences of snow and ice that affected travel and school operations. A heavy snowstorm hit the Cove on January 24.

A cat named “Fluff” began assisting residents at the Morrisons Cove Home by providing opportunities for sensory stimulation, therapeutic touch, relaxation, comfort, and affection. He was living in the Garden Room of the Detwiler-Halbritter Building in the specialty care unit under the direction of the activities department
