Former Hollidaysburg Resident to Lead Online Poetry Workshop

Author/poet Tom Catalano will be conducting a live-stream workshop, “POETRY: How and Why,” as part of the monthly meeting of the Inkwell writer’s group. The online meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. via Zoom with Catalano as a guest speaker. Anyone interested in writing and learning more about how to become a poet are encouraged to attend this no-cost presentation.

Former Hollidaysburg resident Tom Catalano is the author of eight books of poetry, two books of short stories, and a book of witty quotes. He has written more than 2,000 poems and sold more than 7,000 copies of his books. During the workshop, Catalano will read humorous and touching selections from his poetry books and discuss his inspiration and motivation. The author will dispel the popular misconception that poetry is long, sad, or hard to understand. He will also explain why writing poetry is important and how to get started.

He is currently a resident of Crossville, TN. More information about Tom Catalano or his books can be found on his website: tomcatalano.com.

The Inkwell is a group dedicated to educating and supporting novice and accomplished writers and is open to writers of all levels and genres. During the monthly meetings, the creativity, craft, and business of writing will be emphasized. The group is supported by Pennwriters, Inc., a non-profit multi-genre writing organization established in 1988 as a networking tool for published and aspiring writers.

The Inkwell meetings are open to all writers, from beginner to published.
