The Claysburg-Kimmel chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the Region 5 FBLA Conference at Saint Francis University on Jan. 14, 2022. C-K senior Rebekah Claar completed her term as Region 5 Secretary, and senior Bailey Garver completed her term as the Region 5 President.
Rebekah is the daughter of Shawn and Christina Claar of Imler. She is a four-year FBLA member and state qualifier. She has been a PA state champion twice and a three-year state place winner. She has also competed on the national level three times and placed 6th in the nation her sophomore year. Rebekah has qualified to compete at the state level again this year in two events. Her future plans are to attend college and become a nurse anesthetist.
Bailey is the daughter of Jim and Kara Garver of Claysburg. She is a four-year FBLA member and state qualifier. She has been a PA state champion twice and a three-year state place winner. She has competed on the national level all three years. Bailey is a two-time PA FBLA state officer, currently serving on the PA FBLA Board of Directors as the PA FBLA First Vice President. She has qualified to compete at the state level again this year in two events. Her future plans are to attend college and become a physician's assistant.
CK FBLA adviser, Steve Walter said, "I am so proud of the accomplishments of these two young ladies. The past two years have been very difficult with the pandemic, but these two have been not only leaders, but also cheerleaders keeping our members active in a virtual world. They have also worked very hard the past two years with their partner, Aidan Barr, on two incredible community service projects. They have been outstanding representatives of our school, region, and state."
