Rev. William H. Holsinger resigned as the pastor of the Williamsburg Church of the Brethren. Before becoming the minister at the Williamsburg church, he pastored at Smithfield and Fairview. The Williamsburg church was considered one of the newest churches in the area.

John P. Allen, formerly of Woodbury, died at the age of 65 in New Castle. Mr. Allen, who was engaged in the grocery business there, was inspecting the crash of two auto trucks in front of this store when a third machine crashed into the wreckage, injuring him so severely that he died.
