Quilts Commemorate 100th, 150th Anniversaries of Martinsburg Borough

Shown are two memorial quilts filled with the town’s residents’ signatures. The smaller, oldest quilt was started in 1927 for the 100th centennial of the incorporation of the Borough. It is 64 inches long and 55 inches wide. This quilt was completed by Martinsburg senior citizens.

The large quilt (100 inches x 80 inches) was produced for the 150th anniversary in 1982. This quilt was displayed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in connection with the church’s chartering.
