The reopening of the Kitty Hawk restaurant at the Blair County airport was delayed due to a health issue involving the new operator. The new operator was unable to sign the agreement to operate the restaurant due to his health, and the airport authority did not want to pressure him.

Six wrestlers from Northern Bedford qualified for the Southwest Regional Tournament in Johnstown, and one, Quinton Hixson, a senior heavyweight, was moving on to the state tournament in Hershey. Claysburg-Kimmel was also sending three wrestlers to the state championship.
