Lottery Tickets Being Sold

Several food stores in Martinsburg were selling lottery tickets for the first statewide lottery drawing. Wineland IGA Foodliner reported selling 200 the first day. The tickets were being distributed through local banks. Licensed ticket agents picked up the tickets at the bank and returned the stubs to the bank for the drawing. A number of other businesses in the area had applied for licenses to sell lottery tickets.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company was selected to build the shell of the new Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company building along South Market street....
