New Ordinance Passed

A new ordinance exempted Martinsburg residents over the age of 75 from paying borough per capita tax. The new ordinance applied to many of the guests in the Morrisons Cove Home.

The employees of the U.S. Envelope plant in Williamsburg were set to strike if a deal was not reached by 4 p.m. on March 23. Last minute negotiations were going on between union and management in meetings at the Minuet Manor Motel near Bellwood.

Plans were underway to open Sheetz-Kwik Shopper delicatessen and produce store at the corner of Poplar and E. Main Streets in Roaring Spring. This...
