Members of the Huston, Taylor, North Woodbury Township, and Martinsburg school boards voted unanimously in favor of asking the State Department of Public Instruction to survey the schools in the community and make recommendations for reorganization.

Representative James E. Van Zandt released details of a plan granting Atlantic Airlines a permanent certificate to operate a route with stops at the Blair County Airport. The airline would provide flights to and from Pittsburgh, and would accommodate both passengers and freight.
