Putting cows on the front page since 1885.
This is a photo of the village of Blair Four near Mt. Etna in Catherine Township, near Williamsburg. It was a company town created by the Blair Limestone Company to support Blair Limestone Quarries #4 and #5 located across the river (also in the photo).
The town and quarry were located along the Juniata River adjacent to the PRR. At one point Blair R. Bice was postmaster and storekeeper in the village. The quarry operation was shut down in the early 1930s when Blair Limestone moved their operations to Morgantown, W.V., and the workers left to find other jobs.
