Complexity of a Snowflake

I believe that the complexity of a snowflake is very underrated.

Only in our lives in late fall, winter, and early spring, these little white things are so simple yet so complicated. They fall into the category of precipitation, sometimes they’re small, and sometimes they’re fat; sometimes they’re powdery, and sometimes they’re wet. Regardless, they achieve what ordinary rain can’t: accumulation.

Since we don’t live with it year round, it’s usually a nuisance when it first appears. It’s dangerous to drive through, it’s cold to walk through, and one needs to shovel it or...
