Friendship Volunteer Fire Co. Adds Sensory Kits to Aid Autistic Children

When fire crews are called out, they announce they are coming with a screaming siren and bright flashing lights. For a lot of us, the sight and sound of a fire engine brings a sense of hopefulness that firefighters are on their way to save lives.

But for those on the autism spectrum, particularly children, the noise and lights of a fire engine can be overwhelming and instill fear and confusion.
