Nason Receives PCI Program Accreditation From Corazon

Corazon, Inc., a national leader in services for the cardiovascular specialty based in Pittsburgh, has granted accreditation to the PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) program at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Through a rigorous process, the accreditation proves that the program at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center has met or exceeded the requirements established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH), in accordance with the procedures finalized in September of 2015, such as providing 24-hour coverage for PCI emergencies, undergoing detailed quarterly quality reviews to ensure outcomes and practices meet or exceed national standards, and other such factors.

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center has demonstrated through their accreditation survey that they are committed to providing the highest quality level of care to their patient community. Their dedication, hard work, and exceptional leadership has afforded this opportunity in engaging their entire hospital team, enhancing their cardiac service line, thus allowing them to excel through achieving this accreditation.

Corazon is a long-time champion for PCI with open heart surgery (OHS) off-site, and assisted with the opening of the first PCI program of this type in Pennsylvania over 12 years ago. Corazon is also a State-Named Accrediting Body in the State of Michigan, and has been a verifier for PCI programs in the state of Georgia for several years and was instrumental in building a consortium of hospitals to drive the legislative changes in Pennsylvania.
