Eleven veterans received quilts during a Quilts of Valor ceremony. The quilts were made by local members of the Patriotic Piecemakers of PA.
On Friday evening at the Lutheran Church in Duncansville, 11 veterans received quilts made by the local members of Patriotic Piecemakers of PA.
These quilts serve a tangible reminder of appreciation and gratitude for service members. They are wrapped around the veteran when presented to bring comfort.
There were seven Army veterans, one Marine, one Navy, and two Air Force in this group of veterans.
The group receiving quilts included Ronald Putorek, Dale Felice, Donald B. Miller, Eugene Biddle, Donald B. Miller, Elmer Lynn Delozier, Gerry Horvath, Edwin Eckard, William Ketner, Ronald Runk and Raymond Maher.
Each veteran was very appreciative of their quilt.
Friends and family attended this event, and cookies and punch were served afterward.
Donations are always needed, such as red, white and blue fabric, batting and backs. Monetary donations are accepted as well. Those who would like to help with the sewing can do this the first Saturday of the month at Connie's Collectables & Quilt Shop.
