The Spring Cove School District was considering a tax increase of one to two mills, despite cost cutting actions. Half of the proposed increase would go to the General Fund, and the other half would be put aside for future renovation projects at the high school.

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission conducted a study of water issues in the Cove and found that the Cove had abundant, high quality water, but water sources needed to be protected to sustain that quality.
