Woodbury Borough Council Reminds Citizens of Summer Ordinances

Woodbury Borough Council met for its April meeting. All members were present, except for the mayor. Four community members were present.

The meeting was called to order by President Shawn Claycomb.

The Woodbury Area Community Center minutes were passed around for review. Ceiling tiles will be obtained to replace water damage. The center is reviewing getting a water hook-up near pavilions. Mulch will be placed underneath the sign on the front of the property.

Mini splits for heat/AC will be revisited in the bookstore and other rooms to help keep down oil costs and improve efficiency.

The next Woodbury Area Community Center meeting is March 23 at 7 p.m.

In old business, the Kaufman house remains in the courts and awaiting final closure from the attorney. In December, it was determined the house is owned by Altoona First Bank. It was said then that the bank would be sent notices that the home must be brought up to code or torn down.

Building codes files were sent by Girard Rickards for review from the borough council. Council members will review and decide which codes they are interested in updating or using.

Borough council is awaiting bids for tar and chipping of the lower Alley/Lodge Street.

In new business, the 2021 Municipal Audit completed by auditors with no issues.

In the local share applications filed by engineers, a new truck will cost $33,297 and Tar and Chipping Lower Alley $204,676.

PennDOT is starting to review Transportation Plan for 2025. Council members asked to identify problems.

Approval was given for Election Board members: Carolyn Shank, judge of elections; Sharon Graybill, majority inspector; and Briana West, minority inspector. Bernadette Ochoa and Doris Benson were approved as clerks.

The council reminds citizens to review grass cutting ordinances and sidewalk ordinances with special emphasis on overhang on trees and shrubbery. Residents should also review burning ordinances.

The next meeting will be held May 2 at 7 p.m.
