Dragons Keep Momentum Going

The Dragon Baseball team obliterated the next two opponents of the season, defeating the Philipsburg Osceola Mountaineers 11-1, and the Richland Rams 13-0.

The Dragons started strong against the Mountaineers, scoring one run in the first inning, while bringing in two in both the second and third innings. The Mountaineers were able to bring in one run in the fourth, but then the Dragons took control of the game, bringing in six runs in the fifth inning to end the game. Jonah Snowberger threw a three-hitter, striking out six and walking none while adding two RBIs. Paxton Kling had two hits including a two-run home run. Devon Boyles and Parker Gregg each added two hits for the Dragons as well.

The Dragons’ domination continued into the next game. The first inning against the Rams was scoreless, but then, the Dragons brought in seven runs in the second, then one more in the third. After five more runs in the fourth inning, the game was set, bringing in another victory for the Dragons. Ty Helsel threw four innings, allowing one hit, striking out six, and walking none. Jake Detwiler closed out the game allowing no hits. Helsel added two hits for the Dragons, including a double. Boyles drove in 3 runs for the Dragons.

Now sitting at 5-0, the Dragons go on to play the Bishop McCort Crushers, the Somerset Eagles, and the Chestnut Ridge Lions in the upcoming week.
