New Construction to Begin

Construction was expected to begin on a home for the aged in Martinsburg by Homewood Church Home Inc. The 67-bed home was scheduled to open in August of 1973 and would be affiliated with the United Church of Christ. Maurice A. Lawruk Builder, Inc. of Altoona was named general contractor.

The Roaring Spring Friendship Fire Company purchased a new 1972 Pontiac Bonneville ambulance. It replaced the 1964 yellow Cadillac ambulance that was traded for the new vehicle. The company was keeping their second ambulance, a 1966 Cadillac, but was having it painted Omaha orange and...
