Catharine Township Supervisors Continue to Look at Farm Show Lease

For the last several months, Catharine Township supervisors have been examining the Farm Show lease, as it has been expired for many years.

During last Thursday evening’s supervisors’ meeting, a sample of a lease was presented to the supervisors. After much discussion, the supervisors said that they want to make changes to the lease.

A resident in attendance inquired about buying 0.15 acres of the land in the Farm Show lease, but no further discussion was held.

Roadway 911 asked for supervisors to name a new road in the township, Solitude Lane, which is a private drive. Supervisor Heather Flaig made a motion to accept the name. With Supervisor Ken Brenneman seconding, the motion passed.

In the roadmaster’s report, Roadmaster Michael Fay said that the township’s red truck is in the repair shop, and the bill could end up being more than $20,000. No further discussion was held on topic, but the supervisors said they will figure out the available options regarding what to do about the red truck.

Roadmaster Fay also said that he recently completed an inventory of all the roads in the township. He made a book of all roads and what work needs to be completed.
