Arthur E. Larson

California

Arthur E. Larson, 76, born in Leechburg, and recent resident of Los Angeles, California, passed in the early morning of April 1, 2022, after a sudden illness.

He knew the love and nearness of his family, hearing their voices and sharing good memories and messages of care, love and prayer before he passed.

Art was born Feb. 23, 1946, to the late Clarence L. Larson and Louise E. (Shutt) Larson.

He cherished his daughter, Nicole Wiemer, her husband Michael and his grandchildren, Jake and Genevieve, all of Massachusetts. Art was one of six siblings, all to Clarence and Louise Larson.

He experienced much adventure and family times with his brother Lud Larson and his sister Eleanor (Mason) Lewis who each preceded him in death.

He is loved and missed by his sisters Betty Jo Collard, late husband Michael; Margaret “Maggie” Blalock (Hugh) and Suzanne “Susie” Morelli, husband Nicholas.

The love of his life was the late Barbara (Kreminski) Larson, mother of Nicole. He was beloved ‘Uncle Art’, giving fishing lessons and cheering on his nephews and nieces: Skylar, Brittany, Michele, husband Alex and their son, Viktor; Megan, husband Scott and their children, Emily, Wyatt and Sadie; Jaci, husband Al and their daughters, Janelle and Lauren who preceded him in death; Crystal, and her daughters, Lyndsey, husband Joe and their children, Ivan and Loki; and daughter Rachel, engaged to Matt and Rachel’s daughter, Madison; as well as his brother Lud’s extended family in Alaska.

Over the years, Art enjoyed his step children, Tim and Tiffany to former wife, Carol.

Art was baptized and confirmed at the Reformation Lutheran Church on Kepple Hill, Vandergrift, Pa. His faith remained important to him throughout his life. He was an Army Veteran of this United States of America, serving during the Vietnam War in the 1960’s.

His employment spanned from insurance agent and owner to real estate developer. Art founded a nonprofit organization that gave him much satisfaction in the later years of his life.

He certainly was an avid fisherman in both fresh and salt water. He worked very well with his hands, remodeling houses, building and repairing furniture and vehicles. Another passion was his music, especially of the 50’s era and beach music. He enjoyed many concerts by his favorite artists. Art was a wonderful dancer, as well. Seeing him out there on the floor, dancing to the beat with a huge smile on his face is a great memory of good times together.

Art truly enjoyed travel in Alaska, coastal areas, western states and New England. He loved his home state of Pennsylvania and enjoyed family times. He lived in the neighborhoods of both Williamsburg and Huntingdon, close to Maggie, Brittany and Susie, Nick and Skylar in recent years. He is greatly missed by his daughter and family, sisters and extended family and friends.

Art’s example of resilience and courage lives on!

There will be a service of remembrance with military honors at his family’s convenience. The United States Flag will be presented in his honor of military service to his daughter, Nicole and family.
